bicycle racing has been around for a long time - since the middle of the nineteenth century. But it has not the form has to date around the beginning of the twentieth. Well, some of the first races, the cyclist is still under renowned. In general, the world's most famous cycling race, the Grand Tours, the race at the Olympic games, and professional race in the context of the Union Cycliste Internationale or UCI. It is road cycling. Other types of bike races which are not are so well known mountain bike race (first recognized in 1990) and cyclo-cross racing (originally developed for road racers during the low season).

Grand Tours

There are three Grand Tours of cycling, of which the most famous is the Tour de France. This multi-stage race lasts three weeks and runs through France, traditionally up in Paris. Founded in 1903, this bike race covers almost two thousand miles, and consists of twenty different phases between certain cities. The winner is the person with the shortest time in each phase. The other Grand Tours, the Giro d'Italia (Giro sometimes only), founded in 1909 and inspired by the Tour de France. In Spain, a similar race, the Vuelta a Espana.

The Olympic Games

Cycling is part of the Olympic Games in 1896, because the games in which a 12-hour race was attempted. Many Olympic cycling events of the past are now forgotten, and 1908 660 yards sprint cycling. Today, bike competitors in the Olympic Games in track cycling, road cycling, mountain bike racing, and BMX-or off-road competitions. The races are divided by sex, and in some cases in teams.

UCI Race

The UCI ProTour in 2005, as a replacement for the older UCI World Cup. The World Cup was the only one race lasting day. The ProTour, but includes the famous Grand Tours and the Tour de Suisse, Criterium de Dauphine Libere, Paris-Nice, and other well-known multi-day race. It also contains another day all races, the World Cup: Belgium, the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Liège-Bastogne-Liege races, Italy Milan-San Remo and the Giro di Lombardia, France Paris-Tours and Paris-Roubaix, the Züri - Metzgete in Switzerland, Spain Clasica de San Sebastian, the HEW Cyclassics in Germany, and the Amstel Gold Race in the Netherlands. Some breeds are just a spring. Others are in the fall. In general, cycling is a sport for the summer, this definition is often stretched so that the season really begins in the spring and ends in autumn.
