General Motors (GM) has absolutely transparent when it comes to new product shows, the choice to show how they have a future product even before it goes into production. The move to GM is part of the coast of the consumer and the confidence of shareholders, the evidence that the carmaker is in the right direction by building smaller, much more fuel-efficient vehicles.
Introducing the Chevy Cruze
One of the cars, the influence of GM in the coming years, the Chevrolet Cruze (pronounced Cruise) is a compact car slightly larger than the current Chevy Cobalt. Originally shown that GM would replace the Cobalt with the Cruze, but after the August 2008 show, press in Lordstown, Ohio, has pointed out that the Cobalt May soldier as its own model.
Regardless of where GM is the Cobalt, the Cruze is the car that could, or against the car manufacturer if it is on sale in Europe starting in the spring of 2009, followed by its U.S. debut a year later. Although the U.S. model, will probably take a slightly different PowerTrain offer than what the European market appears, GM says the Cruze is still at least 40 MPG on the highway. Not bad for a petrol model, by adding them to the little Smart Fortwo area at the same time a larger and safer car.
Excellent motor, gearbox Choices means 40 + MPG Highway
GM says the Cruze will be with 16-valve, 1.6-liter (112 hp) and 1.8-liter (140 hp) gasoline engine with variable valve timing (VVT) on both inlet and outlet. This is the car more power and better fuel economy, while lower emissions. The car manufacturer of the new 2.0-liter turbo-diesel, the 150 horsepower is more power with even greater fuel economy. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, but an optional six-speed automatic Cruze will round out the offering. The latter choice of transmission is unusual, because it then the first time that a six-speed transmission is in the small car class.
Interior design is still a bit of a secret, the GM plans to speak to find out more about the car makes its official debut at the Paris Motor Show in September 2008. Seating for up to five occupants is likely, with optimum capacity for four adults.
If customers are from the Cruze? That remains to be seen, but with its cross-roof-line and coupe-like proportions, the Cruze has a sporty flair, something lacking in most cars its size.
Look for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, in the North American Chevy showrooms by Summer Break 2010.
