Many people find that taking into account charges or turboing for your car or any vehicle for that matter, there are many things to be considered. There are the simple questions like, turbo or compressor, the kit and how much to charge. But equally critical issues of how other components in your car need to be improved to deal appropriately with all that extra power. It is almost never the situation where you can use a compressor and off you go, without considering these other systems.

I can not describe all the BMW version in terms of forced induction, there are too many versions in order here. However, as a rule, super chargers offer cheaper, easier to install kit. These kits often increase of 6-8 kg and the average home mechanic can ensure a quality application in 6 hours. Super Chargers are usually the impressive horsepower but many suppliers are not a large amount of low rpm torque. For the daily trip you do not see much of a difference, until you get to higher RPMs. Turbos offer a huge potential PS, at a much low end torque once spooled, but can be a complicated installation. For example, in High-Boost kits you often need to compaction with either a thicker head gasket or shorter pistons. There are several components to a turbo application as well, consisting of items such as an intermediate cooler, bypass valve, blow off valve, waste gate, exhaust manifold, larger injectors, etc. The typical home mechanic will probably not be in the able to complete this installation. A professional mechanic will require 8-12 hours, depending on the kit and this may be the cost of the project. But the increasing power is worth every penny as long as there are in your household.

Stop: If you have a 400 to 500 hp BMW you better have 400 to 500 brake horsepower. More power for more acceleration, more speed and more value on your brakes. Many upgrades include larger diameter rotors, multiple-piston brake calipers, sport brake pads, stainless steel brake lines and brake performance. This should be one of the first things you improve after adding a turbo or compressor.

Drive: If you have a manual transmission, seriously consider upgrading the clutch. The heavy Sachs clutch is ideal for light kits with higher performance kits, with a UUC, Clutchmaster or similar applications. It is best to make them now, because your stock is likely to be the clutch very quickly otherwise. This is usually about six hours of work for many technicians.

Cooling System: Power makes heat. Your car radiator is designed to deal with your stock power heat output. If you live in a cold room, track your car or a lot of high-speed driving you need a better cooling. Your best bet is to purchase a higher capacity, performance radiator. Make sure the radiator is flushed and new fluid. You can also install engine heat shields, the heat from the recording and hoods, the slots installed so the hot air to escape quickly.

Your Skills: The most important thing to improve your driving skills. All the PS you can in a lot of trouble and you do not want to hurt or injure someone else. A good place to check BMWCCA driving schools. These are expensive and you really learn a great deal. There are also many other professionally Fahrerflucht schools throughout the country, the ability to teach, how to ensure your high performance BMW.
