If you are a manufacturer of cars, my heart goes to you. This is especially true if you are active in the United States domestic market, which is currently in one of its worst downturn since 1990.
Badlands how the news is there are some rays of hope shines through the darkness. Not every company is losing sales and not every brand will be hammered. Even for those companies reporting huge losses this year, they can still at least one or two models which are selling quite well. Without this strong sellers strengthen general, the picture would probably be much worse.
For the year 2008, there are winners, losers, and a handful of companies that are somewhere in between. Let's take a look at these three categories in a bid to a certain sense a decline in the consumer market.
The Winner's Circle
Honda, Nissan, Kia, Subaru and Mercedes registering sales increases each year to day more than in 2007. Subaru is the biggest gainer, as this manufacturer of compact, fuel-efficient cars to see sales on the rise in the amount of 5.9% until August 2008. Consumers want smaller, more economical cars and the manufacturers that they will continue to see gains even in a difficult market.
The Loser's Corner
GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota and includes the four largest retailers in the U.S. market and all four are for the year. Toyota may drop you, but, since in the large truck and SUV business, expanded its product line V8. Chrysler is in the worst shape, with a turnover of 24% for the year.
Smaller manufacturers also lose big, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Jaguar and Porsche.
In the middle
In the middle of the pack are a number of companies whose assets the car could be improved if the market rebounds before the year ends. Volkswagen is thousands vehicles for the year 2008, while Mazda, Hyundai, BMW and are within reach for the restoration. Indeed, BMW sales trending upward, which the luxury car brand hope that 2008 sales will be ongoing until the end.
Special offers for you
For consumers, this year is definitely a buyer-market, as manufacturers slash prices with the aim to clear inventory. Yes, if you are in the market for a new car, truck, van, SUV or crossover, you can find the reduced prices to the bone, especially during these waning months of the year.
Shop around and negotiate with determination - the market is clearly on your side.
